Speed Switches

PROTECT YOUR EQUIPMENT WITH TORQ SPEED SWITCH OVERSPEED, UNDERSPEED, AND ZERO SPEED MODELS

The TORQ Speedetex® Electronic Speed Switch measures rotational speed and provides an output signal for overspeed or underspeed conditions. A speed switch provides protection from speed related damage including broken belts, overloads, and belt slippage in conveyors, bulk material handling, and other types of rotating machinery. The TORQ Speedetex® Zero Speed Switch detects stopping or starting which can be caused by power failures or other problems.

ELECTRONIC SPEED SWITCH MODELS:

ESS Models

The TORQ Speedetex® ESS Electronic Speed Switch is a NEMA 4 model used in bulk material handling/processing systems to monitor speeds of belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, rotary feeder shafts, rotating drums and other types of rotating machinery to protect elevators, feeders and conveyors from speed related damage resulting from broken belts, overloads, or belt slippages.

ZSS Models

For Zero Speed applications choose the ESS model with the configuration that matches your application. Then choose your desired speed value. Typical definitions of Zero Speed are anything less than one (1) RPM. You can define Zero Speed for your system us value you choose as appropriate.

MECHANICAL SPEED SWITCH MODELS:

MSS Models

The TORQ Speedetex® MSS Mechanical Speed Switch is a NEMA 4 model that activates mechanically rather than electrically at an RPM specified by the user. Each unit is designed with a spring and weight combination to detect either underspeed or overspeed conditions. Output is a hard contact closure – SPNO or SPNC as specified by the user.
